Chief Warrant Officer 2 Raymond R. Lewis dedicated his life to military service and to his country. At just 17 years old, he answered the call to duty, serving in the United States Army during the Korean War. Assigned to an artillery battery, he participated in some of the conflict's most intense fighting, demonstrating courage and commitment under challenging combat conditions.
After returning home, Raymond continued his dedication to military service by joining the Tennessee National Guard. Over the next 38 years, he faithfully served the citizens of Tennessee and the nation, rising through the ranks to achieve the distinguished rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2.
In recognition of his service and sacrifice on September 2, 2016 the Highway 11E and 19E Interchange in Bluff City, Tennessee, was designated the Chief Warrant Officer 2 Raymond R. Lewis Memorial Interchange, ensuring that his legacy of patriotism, leadership, and devotion to duty will be remembered for generations to come
